Full Script

Intro:
Everyone has desires, whether that be a desire for money, or a desire for power. However, at times, our desires are too extreme, or excessive, impacting us to the point that we even become willing to commit immoral acts to satisfy our own desires and give up our virtuous qualities such as sympathy or empathy as we prioritise satisfying our own desires above anything else.

I believe that both of these texts show the ways in which excessive desires lead us to lose our virtues, ignore moral issues and disregard the morality associated with the actions we take to satisfy our own desires.

Literary extract: How Much a Dollar Cost- Chorus, Verse 3:

Kendrick Lamar raps in the persona of himself rejecting a homeless man’s pleas for the money of 10 rand⁹ in Africa. Kendrick Lamar through this persona, who we will simply refer to as Lamar, exemplifies our global issue…
