3. Does it matter if our acquisition of knowledge happens in “bubbles” where some information and voices are excluded? Discuss with reference to two areas of knowledge.

“Information” is a set of data without attribution of meaning by a knower, whereas “voices” suggest an interactive, two-way process between a knower and knowledge. Thus it can be
inferred from the title that our acquisition of knowledge, a process during which we understand and process knowledge, can be affected by the knower who interprets and
articulate the knowledge. The title used the word “excluded” which happens when something is intentionally disregarded. Thus it can be implied that the title assumes that “bubbles” are
formed deliberately. From this, “bubbles” can be re-defined as isolated communication loops where a set of ideas and perspectives related to a certain topic is purposely disregarded. Whether something matters can be measured through its effects on something else. In this essay, whether it matters if our acquisition of knowledge happening in “bubbles” will be measured through its effects on the development of Areas of Knowledge (AoK), more specifically its effects on contributing to achieving the ultimate objective of each AoK as each area has its own purpose and its own ultimate goal of knowledge. For example, in the Human Sciences it is to gain a better insight into human behaviour, whilst in the Arts it is to produce an author’s artistic creations as a form of expression and to promote open interpretations. In this essay, the two AoK – the Arts and Human Sciences – will be investigated as they have clear differences in the ultimate object as a discipline as prescribed…
