1) Introduction
1.1) Rationale
When I was in elementary school, I went to watch 2018 Summer Olympic diving competition. Before watching the competition, I knew nothing about diving. I was not aware of how the diving board worked, or even how the divers dive. At first glance, the several diving boards were placed at different height, including 3m, 5m and 10m. Also, while some diving boards seemed extremely rigid, but some diving boards seemed flexible that it was already a bit bent towards the water below. When the competition started, one diver started with the flexible diving board. As I was uninformed about diving, I was scared to watch the diver using the flexible diving board. This was because I thought that it would suddenly bend as soon as the diver stand on it and fall into the water. I had this thought because one end of the diving board is constrained, and the other end is extended freely in outward direction.
