### RESEARCH QUESTION : What effect does the velocity of the stroke on a shuttlecock have on the area under its trajectory ?

INTRODUCTION
I spend time playing badminton with my school friends and teachers since I was young. Most sports involve projectile motion. For example, shot put, discus, baseball, soccer and etc. What interested me was that badminton looks a little different from other projectile movements. So, I decided to explore more on badminton, one of my interesting sports. In terms of historical development, the origins of badminton games date back to the days when they were plated in ancient Greece, China and India at least 2,000 years ago1. It has very complex properties, such as a high projectile made by a unique form of shuttlecock. Through the knowledge that I learned from IGCSE and IB Physics, I know that projectile motion has the gravitational force. This means that an object goes up and then down with changing its angle freely through the air. The shuttlecock has an open figure embedded in the base of a round cork2. Due to the structure that the top is heavier than the bottom, the direction of the shuttlecock rotates and flies. It also experiences air resistance due to its structure and weight…
