“A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots” (Marcus Gravey). Past knowledge is critical for understanding and developing the present. Being wholly dependent means present knowledge would have not existed if the past knowledge did not exist. Knowledge is defined differently in different areas of knowledge. In different areas of knowledge, there are different standards of being wholly dependent on past knowledge. In the area of knowledge of natural science and art, present knowledge is wholly dependent on past knowledge. Natural science is partially dependent on past knowledge. On the other hand, art is more dependent than natural science because all the artists are influenced by other artists or people to create new artwork or an art movement. Present knowledge is partially dependent in past knowledge.

In natural science, present knowledge is partially dependent on past knowledge with some exceptions. In natural science, knowledge is considered as a knowledge of the physical
world obtained by reasoning and observation in physics, chemistry, biology, etc. Present knowledge can be defined as when the person claimed the theory or a statement. On the other hand, past knowledge can be defined as the knowledge from another person or oneself before one obtains the present knowledge. In natural science, knowledge is gathered and proved by the scientific method. When the problem is created, the hypothesis is made with a prediction. Sense perception is a way of gaining scientific knowledge or problems by use of one of the senses. It is one of the main means to understand most phenomena that occur in our environment…
