Prescribed title 7. “We see and understand things not as they are but as we are.” Discuss this claim in relation to at least 2 ways of knowing.

How do we know something is real? Is the world we understand the world in itself or just the world we perceive in our mind? These questions challenge our understanding of accurate-reality and values of our ways of acquiring knowledge. The claim to discuss in this essay is, “We see and understand things not as they are but as we are.” Seeing is process of perceiving by all forms of sensory-perception. Understanding is process of interpreting meanings. There are different ways to understand, including through experiences, observation and logic. Human pursue to understand natural world, but it is of question whether we’re capable of looking what’s actually out in the real-world. Or, going back to more basic question, is there such a thing as objective-reality? The essay title assumes objective-reality exist because I interpret “as they are” as objective and external reality, and “as we are” as subjective-reality that reflect who human are due to human experiences and human’s mental and physical abilities…
