I used 2 AOK (History and Natural Sciences) two knowledge questions to explore the idea of production of knowledge, conclusions and evidence.

Evidence is defined as “the available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief or proposition is true or valid” (Oxford Dictionary, n.d.). It fundamentally influences the acceptance or rejection of conclusions and suggests that there can be no conclusions that stretch beyond the evidence. However, going beyond evidence does not mean unequivocally accepting unsupported random claims, but rather building upon existing evidence and extending it to make assumptions or propose new ideas to aid the production of knowledge. The extent to which we accept these conclusions will depend on the area of knowledge as they vary in the type and way evidence is collected. For example, the Natural Sciences rely heavily on the process of active experimentation and observations to produce empirical evidence; therefore, it is often regarded as reliable. In contrast, History is based on the evaluation of existing evidence, the use of existing knowledge, and predictions from one’s realistic imagination, to form a coherent picture of the past…
